Beyer Home & Carriage Museum Season:

 Saturday, May 25, 2019 – Monday, September 2, 2019

Be sure to come see the new artifacts and displays.  Guided tours are available Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, noon-4:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Closed Tuesday.

 

Copperfest: June 7-9, 2019

 

OCHS Pie & Ice Cream Social:  Sunday, June 9, 2019

This long-standing event features many choices of pie.  Have it plain or ala mode, or have a sundae instead.  The Elegant Junque tent features a wide variety of collectible items for sale.  Enjoy musical entertainment during the afternoon.

OCHS Art Show:  Saturday, July 20, 2019 – Sunday, August 4, 2019

The 15th Annual OCHS Art Show exhibits art from anyone connected with Oconto County.  Works have used a variety of media including painting, drawing, sculpture, wood working, quilting, knitting, and tatting.  The exhibit hours coincide with museum.

Logging, Locals, and Lakewood: July 27, 1:00 pm at Holt & Balcom Logging Camp Museum

Lakewood historian Tom Thielke will present “Logging, Locals, and Lakewood” at 1:00 p.m. on July 27 at the Holt and Balcom Logging Camp Museum. Tom will discuss the intersection of Holt Lumber Company’s harvest of Northwoods timber with the establishment of a small town given a perfect name for its location: Lakewood.

OCHS Cemetery Walk: Tuesday, September 17, 2019 through Thursday, September 19, 2019

This popular event features graveside portrayals of individuals from Oconto of historical significance to the community.  Groups are guided through the cemetery by lantern-bearing guides, adding to the historical ambience of the event.  Refreshments are served at the Beyer Home and Carriage Museum following the portrayals.  The 2019 Walk will feature the Oconto Catholic Cemetery.  Tuesday and Wednesday nights will be held at the Oconto High School auditorium.  Thursday night will be held at the cemetery, weather permitting.  Tickets are $8 and available at the Museum during the season and at Roberts Hardware Store in Oconto after the Museum has closed for the season if tickets are still available.
